About Us

Brisbane Area WICEN Group Inc. (BAWG) is a “Community Service” section of the Amateur Radio hobby in South East Queensland. BAWG provides a group of Trained, Licenced Amateur Radio (often referred to as “HAM Radio”) Operators, who volunteer to assist in Emergency Situations and are able to provide Emergency and Safety Communications when normal communications do not exist or are inadequate.

Dingo Creek Horse Endurance Ride

Dingo Creek was a challenge from a radio perspective, but was a really well-organised event and a joy to help out with. Far-a-way and Stirling’s Crossing could learn a lot from this group! This has got to be one of the best-organised horse endurance ride events I’ve been involved with….

Kilkivan Horse Endurance Ride

Having thawed out from Southbrook, we return to assist Kilkivan Endurance with another horse endurance ride. This takes place just a week after the town got rattled by an earthquake that was allegedly felt as far away as Sydney: we’re blaming Simon & Rob bouncing around Widgee back-roads for that….

Toowoomba Endurance Horse Riders Hip Pocket Challenge 2024
